How the Walk

Works

01 / The Walk

Initially small and at times completely illegal and forced underground, the Arbaeen Walk is a 14 decade strong practice of mourning Hussain ibn Ali (as) by visiting his burial site by foot. Today, over 27 million people participate in the movement, walking the 50 miles from Najaf to Karbala. Through this act of mourning, they reaffirm their commitment to the principles for which Hussain ibn Ali (as) lived (and for which he was ultimately martyred).

02 / Testimonials

Hear, listen, and read stories of people inspired by the revolution of Imam al-Hussain (as) to change their life through the most peaceful gathering of humans on the planet. Listen and go along with them on their journey to feel the sights, sounds, and encounters they all experiences and allow it to inspire you to join the walk as well. The Imam (ajtfs) is waiting.
